A perfect example of one of those WTF moments we encounter in life. A Colorado woman, “Diana”, says that Match.com paired her with James Holmes, the man accused of killing 12 people at the Friday screening of The Dark Knight Rises.
Diana claims that she discovered Holmes’ profile among her suggested matches on the same day he committed the mass-murder.
But that wasn’t all. The profile was created days before the massacre. Diana tells tells TMZ that Holmes’ profile also had the same tagline from his adultfinder.com profile: “Will you visit me in prison?” Of himself and what he was looking for, Holmes said: “Looking for a fling or casual sex gal. Am a nice guy. Well, as nice enough of a guy who does these sort of shenanigans.”
There’s a Canadian connection to this senseless murder. One of the victims, Jessica Ghawi, an aspiring sportscaster, survivied the recent Toronto’s Eaton Centre shooting. She blogged about her experience on June 5.
Finally, I can’t help feeling that the tough-on-crime Harper Conservatives made a terrible mistake when they gutted the long gun registry. Holmes, who was unemployed, reportedly had “an arsenal that could have outgunned the Aurora police force.”
