Occupy Ottawa encourages all in the movement to come out and “support our fellow travelers in their struggle to be treated fairly by the Canadian government.”
- When: Friday October 21, 2011 at 12:00 noon
- Where: Parliament Hill, Ottawa, Ontario
- Why: To let the Government know that Air Canada Flight Attendants deserve fair treatment!
And part of the invitation email received from a representative of the flight attendants:
“Thanks to the actions taken against Air Canada flight attendants in the past few weeks it has never been more evident that this Government is on the side of corporations and has its heart set on breaking unions and their rights to fair bargaining and the right to strike.
Every year that goes by, the job of an Air Canada flight attendant gets harder and with inflation we make less and less. Flight attendants took up to 20% in cuts to wages, vacation, sick leave and benefits to help the company survive and at the same time our CEO and top executives have seen increases of up to 1500%. This year alone our CEO, will receive a pay increase of 77%.
Please come join us on Parliament Hill at NOON on FRIDAY OCTOBER 21st.
Flight Attendants will be rallying to voice their anger at the actions taken by Lisa Raitt and the Harper Government against Canadian workers and against our rights as Canadians!
We hope you will be able to join us!”
